| Custom displays are possible to make. However, they are very difficult to make. In order to make a custom food item, we need to make a mold of your food item. To keep the level of quality that we pride ourselves on, making a mold from the actual food item is essential. Obviously this works very well here in Japan, but presents a bit of a problem for overseas orders unless you can send your item directly to us which in most cases is not feasible. If it is a Japanese food item or an item that can be found here in Japan, it is much easier to do since we can find the item here to cast a mold from.
In some cases we are able to make a replica without using the actual product. Depending on the level of difficulty and detail, it is possible, however it can be costly as it is very time consuming. We contract out with several designers. Some must have the actual product to cast a mold from and a select few are able to make certain items from a picture. But, products made from a picture tend to lose some of the quality in texture and detail that a product made by a mold would have. Custom orders usually take around 3-4 weeks for a rather small project, or as long as 6-9 weeks in the case of larger, more finely detailed projects.
